Terms of Sale

Last updated: 2 October 2026

These terms apply when you buy one of our games from kage.games: the digital edition (a registration code by email) or the boxed edition (UK only).

Who you're buying from

Digital orders: our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our digital orders: Paddle sells the registration code to you, takes your payment, issues your receipt and handles VAT and other sales taxes. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns for them. Paddle's own Buyer Terms also apply to your purchase.

Boxed orders are sold to you directly by Kage Games Limited, paid through PayPal — see "Boxed edition (UK only)" below.

RetroStar is made by Kage Games Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15443987), registered office 2 Jeffrey Hill Close, Grimsargh, Preston, Lancashire, United Kingdom, PR2 5BS. See Contact.

What you're buying

A registration code that unlocks the full version of RetroStar, a game for the ZX Spectrum Next and compatible computers. The game is one free download, and so is its manual; without a registration code the game runs as a 10-minute demo. Please try the free demo before buying to make sure RetroStar runs on your machine.

Your code is emailed to the address you give at checkout. You register it once — in the game over your Next's WiFi, or on our website — and the game is unlocked from then on.

Your licence

When you buy a registration code, Kage Games Limited grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use RetroStar on the computers you own, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, share or sell your registration or unlock code, or modify, decompile or redistribute the game, except as the law allows. RetroStar and its artwork, music and documentation are © Kage Games Limited.

A registration code is registered to the first email address that confirms it; it can't then be registered to a different address. If you buy it as a gift, give the code — not the unlock code — so the person you give it to can register it themselves.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown on each game's page. Digital: the checkout shows the final price in your currency, including any VAT or sales tax, and Paddle takes payment when you order. Boxed: the price and postage shown, paid through PayPal when you order.

Boxed edition (UK only)

A boxed edition — the box, the printed manual and a registration card — costs the price and postage shown on the game's page, paid through PayPal.

  • Where we deliver: UK addresses only (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland — not the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man). Orders with an address elsewhere are refunded in full.
  • Delivery: we dispatch within 14 days (usually within 3 working days), by Royal Mail Tracked 48, and email you when it's on its way. If it hasn't arrived within 30 days of your order, or arrives damaged, contact us and we'll send a replacement or refund you.
  • Changing your mind: you can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order: tell us (an email is enough), then return it within 14 days of telling us. You pay the return postage. We refund the price and the original postage within 14 days of getting it back (or your proof of posting). The registration card's code is cancelled when you return it.
  • Sealed software: the boxed edition is sealed. If you unseal it, the right to cancel no longer applies (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 28) — this doesn't affect your rights if it's faulty.
  • Faulty or not as described: you're always entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
  • Returns address: 2 Jeffrey Hill Close, Grimsargh, Preston, Lancashire, United Kingdom, PR2 5BS.
